We’re excited to announce that we will be sharing this fine night at Southpaw (our home away from home) with Bryan Vargas Y Ya Esta, an incredible band that puts an electrified, soulful spin on Mambo, Rumba and Son music from the Afro-Caribbean diaspora. And you can expect some more bumpin’ new material from your good friends at Akoya. Yes indeed, it’ll be a night of unadulterated getting down. Tickets are available now at ticketweb.com, and for further information, check out the flyer above.

For those who don’t know, First Saturday’s are a NYC institution, bringing people together from all walks of city life to enjoy free music, art, lectures, booze (well, the booze isn’t free), etc. Akoya will be kicking the event off at 5pm with a heavy, heavy performance in the museum’s Sculpture Garden. We hope to see you there!
